Discovering Buddhism - Mind and Its Potential

Published September 8, 2011

All levels. This course introduces the Buddhist understanding of the mind and its crucial role in our lives regardless of whether we have a religious perspective or not. There is no way to avoid working with our minds if we wish for any kind of happiness and the reduction of problems and suffering. During this course, we compare the Buddhist view of mind with the scientific materialist view of the mind/brain and explore the vital implications of these diametrically opposed views. In addition, this course will demonstrate how meditation is the most effective ways to work with the mind. Class Retreat Day is on Oct 8 10:30am - 3pm.

Run time ~2 hours per session
